Screen Shot 2016-01-12 at 10.47.50 AMWe are so excited to launch the Lyons Den Power Cubs program: yoga for children! At Lyons Den, we are committed to community empowerment, and we believe the earlier the seeds of strength, confidence, connection, and concentration are planted, the better.

That’s why we’re proud and eager to invite your kids to join the Lyons Den community! Power Cubs is a 12-week program for children ages 3-5 and 6-9, led by Trista Krone and Eda Ozman, kicking off in February. The groups will meet twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays. (Ages 3-5 will meet from 11 am-12 pm, and ages 6-9 will be from 3:30-4:30 pm.)

Meet the Teachers:

Trista Krone met LDPY co-founder Bethany Lyons while attending Baron Baptiste’s Level 2 training in Tulum, Mexico, in 2013, and has been a part of the Lyons Den community since 2014. Trista has practiced power yoga for more than 10 years and brings 800 hours of specialized yoga training to the Power Cubs program. In addition to graduate studies focused on positive youth development, Trista has worked as a facilitator and program manager for Girls on the Run, a youth development program that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Trista completed kids yoga training at Karma Kids Yoga in Manhattan. She is passionate about teaching children and translating the principles of yoga in a fun, imaginative, and playful way.

Eda Ozman completed teacher training in the Baptiste style at Down Dog Yoga in Washington, D.C. She immediately knew she wanted to share the practice with children. Eda has since completed children’s yoga training programs at YoKids in Washington, D.C., as well as Karma Kids Yoga and Little Flower Yoga in Manhattan. Eda has extensive experience working with 4-H, which is the nation’s largest positive youth development and youth mentoring organization, empowering six million young people in the U.S. She can’t wait to share the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to children, and empower Den Cubs to be happy, healthy, and strong.
