Den Founders

“‘If not now, when? If not you, who?’ Baron Baptiste asks this question at many programs and Trainings I have participated in. I am answering through action.

Having received so much out of my years practicing and instructing Baptiste Yoga, it was clear to me that this style speaks to many different types of people and is tailor-made for the New Yorker. I realized that what was missing from Manhattan was a powerful Baptiste-style studio—it simply didn’t exist. Lyons Den Power Yoga is the kind of community that we have been searching for and one that we know will inspire others to be unstoppable—both on the mat and in their lives.

At Lyons Den Power Yoga, our vision is simple: EMPOWER others TO LEAD their lives with INTEGRITY and COURAGE through the practice of yoga. To do this, we will set the bar high; we will rise to the occasion of our lives; we will be bold, daring, badass, silly, crazy, kind, loving, open, physical, powerful and we will be a stand for one another. To do this we will challenge “business as usual” on and off the mat. And we most certainly will ROAR.”

In founding Lyons Den Power Yoga, Bethany seeks to showcase the endless possibilities all around us and to show up in a big way for her students and in her life. She sees no better place to do just that than the Greatest City on Earth.

“When I returned from my first teacher Training with Baron Baptiste, I looked at Bethany and told her what she already knew and had been advocating: it was time to open a Baptiste-style yoga studio in New York City.

For the majority of the last decade I have read countless self-help books, tried numerous workout programs, and adopted various diets all with the goal of transforming my life and seeking that holy grail of ‘achieving success.’ After one week of intensive Baptiste teacher Training, I knew why my past attempts at transformation had failed; I was looking to the outside world to change something in me that didn’t need to be fixed. I began a process of releasing the limiting views and stories I created around my life that had prevented me from tapping into my true power.

In the past year, I have experienced tremendous breakthroughs in my personal and professional life. Every day I continue to grow and am humbled by how easily I can slip back into old limiting habits and views. Fortunately I have a strong community and with that, anything is possible.

Lyons Den Power Yoga is our commitment to sharing the transformative power of this practice with everyone. I speak from experience when I say ‘YOU ARE READY NOW.’
