WHO CAN TAKE HEATED POWER YOGA?
YOU. We welcome all walks of life, all levels and showing up just as you are. That being said, this is a physical practice that is meant to stir the pot. We ask that you embrace challenge and take care of yourself by taking modifications or breaks in Child’s Pose as needed.

WILL I DO THE SAME POSES EVERY CLASS?
At Lyons Den Power Yoga, the core methodology our teachers will be using is the Journey into Power™ sequence created by Baron Baptiste. Some of our classes will follow this sequence exactly while others will borrow from its core and expand into different variations. It’s important to remember that every practice is a new experience, regardless of the sequence.
WHAT IF I’M NOT FLEXIBLE?
You need a flexible mind, not a flexible body to do this practice. Modifications and listening to your body are the healthy expectations we have of our students at Lyons Den Power Yoga and we can support you in coming up with adaptations and modifications that work for you. Commit yourself to stepping out of your comfort zone; you will surprise yourself with what you are capable of and how your body can change!
WILL I SWEAT?
Yes. Embrace it! The temperature of the room combined with the physical intensity of the practice will cause you to sweat. It is important that prior, during and after your practice you commit to staying hydrated. Bring a sweat towel for your mat and bring a change of clothing for after class.
WHAT IF I FEEL DIZZY OR LIGHT-HEADED?
Come to a seated position or to child’s pose whenever you need a moment to recharge. Also it is important to make sure you are hydrating well and replenishing with electrolytes before, during and after class.
IS MY SPOT GUARANTEED IF I MADE A RESERVATION?
All reserved mats must be claimed (i.e. you physically checked in at the studio) by 4 minutes prior to the start time of the class you are signed up for. If you are not going to be physically in the studio by 4 minutes prior to the start time – please immediately call the studio to let us know you are running late so we will know to hold your mat space. At the 4-minute-mark we release mats to students on the wait-list, and can no longer guarantee your spot. Please make your experience at The Den stress-free by arriving at least 10 minutes prior to class.
HOW DO I BOOK A RESERVATION FOR CLASS?
Sunday nights at 6 o’clock we open up reservations for the entire week, Monday through Sunday. You can book classes either online under “schedule” on our website, on the Mind Body Online App on your mobile device or by calling the studio directly: 646-490-8888. All classes must be paid prior to booking. (Please note for the convenience of all our members, class cancellations must be made by 5pm the night prior to the day the class is booked or you will be charged for the class. If you are on an “unlimited” first-time student special, 3-month or Yearly membership — the same rules apply. If you book a mat and late cancel or no show, a $24 class fee will be charged to your account).
WHAT ABOUT HYDRATION?
Come to class hydrated. We recommend drinking water with electrolytes before, during and after class. You are welcome to bring your own water bottle (no glass is allowed in the studio for safety reasons) to stay hydrated during class. We also offer Nalgenes, Evian water bottles and electrolyte packets to purchase at the studio.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?
We do offer discounts to all current and former military, police, fire and emergency service public servants. We do not offer student discounts. In lieu of discounts for students, we do have a Pride Karma Program that offers classes in exchange for service at the studio.
DO YOU PROVIDE TOWELS?
Two complimentary premium towels are included in the price of classes. We encourage you, in addition, to bring your own mat towel or purchase a UFit Lyons Den Power Yoga mat towel for the best experience in class.
ARE THERE SHOWERS? LOCKERS?
YES and YES! We are happy to say we have shoe cubbies, lockers with four-digit locks, two men’s showers and four women’s showers. Towels are provided. Please note Lyons Den Power Yoga is not responsible for any lost or stolen property.
IS THERE CHILDCARE?
Unfortunately, we do not offer childcare or doggie daycare. As much as we love little cubs, we are also not licensed to watch your children of any age or pets while you take class. We kindly ask that you do not ask our front desk staff to perform these duties.
HOW DO I CANCEL A CLASS RESERVATION?
All class cancellations must be made by 5pm the night prior to the day of the booked class. If a cancellation is made after this time, either a class will be removed from your account or if on an “unlimited” membership – a $24 class fee will be charged to your account.
