WHAT IS JOURNEY INTO POWER?
At Lyons Den Power Yoga, we use Baron Baptiste’s Journey into Power sequence, a power vinyasa style that is practiced in a heated room. Some of our classes will follow this sequence exactly while others borrow from its core and expand into different variations.
IS HEATED POWER YOGA FOR ME?
100% YES. We welcome everyone at any level of experience. We promise a challenging class and while we ask you to embrace that, we also want you to listen to your body and take modifications if needed.
HOW HOT IS THE STUDIO?
88 – 95 degrees
HOW LONG ARE THE CLASSES?
We offer 45, 60, 75, and 90-minute classes.
WHAT IF I’M NOT FLEXIBLE?
Everybody comes to the mat at a different level and every pose can be modified, adapted or adjusted.
HOW DO I HYDRATE?
We recommend drinking water with electrolytes before, during and after class. Bring your own bottle (no glass, please) and fill it from our filtered water fountain. We also sell Nalgene bottles as well as bottled Evian water and electrolyte powder packets.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN MAT OR PROPS?
You are welcome to bring your own mat. We also have Jade Harmony Mats for rent ($2) and provide blocks and straps inside the studio.
DO YOU HAVE TOWELS?
Two complimentary small towels are included with your class. We also rent mat towels for $2 or you can purchase a UFit Lyons Den Power Yoga mat towel. Large shower towels are offered in the locker rooms.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?
We recommend moisture-wicking attire that fits close to the body and is easy to move in. We do not suggest loose clothing (i.e. oversized t-shirts or sweat pants) as it can become uncomfortable when you sweat. Please make sure your clothes are laundered and fresh-smelling (yoga clothes do not last forever). And, bring a change of clothes.
SHOULD I EAT BEFORE I COME TO CLASS?
You know your body best. Proper hydration and fuel are important for a strong practice so we like to have a small snack 1-2 hours before class.
CAN I BRING MY PHONE INTO THE ROOM IF I AM EXPECTING AN IMPORTANT CALL?
Cell phones are not allowed inside the yoga room. If you have a special circumstance, please leave your phone with the front desk staff and we’ll come get you if a call comes through.
ARE THERE LOCKERS AND SHOWERS?
YES and YES! We have men’s and women’s locker rooms with showers and essential bath products and toiletries, as well as towels. We have 4-digit code lockers both inside the locker rooms and in our main reception areas. We recommend using lockers to store your belongings – Lyons Den Power Yoga is not responsible for any lost or stolen property.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?
We offer discounts to all current and former military, police, fire and emergency service personnel.
DO YOU OFFER CHILDCARE?
We do not offer childcare or doggie daycare. Please do not bring children to sit in the lobby while you take class.
HOW DO I BOOK A CLASS?
Sign ups open every Sunday at 6 pm, Monday through Sunday of the following week. So if you book a class on Tuesday, you can only book classes on that day and through the following Sunday. There are three ways to book a class:
BY WHEN DO I NEED TO CHECK IN FOR MY RESERVATION?
You need to check in at least 4 minutes before class. If you will not be there at least 4 minutes prior, please call the studio and let us know—we allow a 10-minute courtesy grace period if you call. Otherwise, all unclaimed spots are given away to those on the waitlist.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY AND HOW DO I CANCEL?
To cancel your class, please call the studio by 5 pm the day before your scheduled class. If you are unable to cancel by this time or do not show, 1 class will be deducted from your current class pack. If have a New Student Special or Monthly Unlimited Membership you will be charged 1 walk-in class ($29).
